Getting 5 venison is genuinely horrible. There is nothing fun about it. Please remove/amend.

EDIT: I finally completed it. Took something like 400 kobolds. This would have been a lot more fun if it was in crates or something, instead of requiring 30+ minutes of straight grinding.

I think it wouldn't be so bad if it dropped from other mobs, so you could keep working at it while progressing elsewhere. Having to stay in the mines and grind, I agree is a detract.

If you grind on armored kobolds then at least you are working towards a claymore as well (and getting decent exp)

Definitely hoping the drop rate gets a buff. There are a couple monsters that drop this item but none of which seem to be that regular. My best luck was with the red kobald. Keep in mind the worst part about this quest is if you've already picked up the officer sword.
