I love this game! You guys have an amazing thing here and I am happy to support you. I was just wondering if you have ironed out the "go back to town" mechanism, as I have been playing on BossEnabled=0 and you get so far down (I got to floor 12) you pretty much can't get back or its just not worth it.

Yea, we're going to implement a portal system, as well as have scrolls that will recall you back to town immediately. Thanks!

Instead of, or in addition, to portals you could also have mine shaft elevators that only go up. This way you could incorporate them into the randomly generated maps and give another reason to explore.

My flavor-based thought on this was a sort of 'rebuilt minecart track' at the checkpoints. Granted that only makes sense for the mines segment.

Haha, that would definitely be cool. If we do areas as 3 floors each, thinking the portal would make sense on even floors. Still thinking about it though..

Haha, it really depends on how much re-use we get out of stuff. Obviously the mines being the first area will be the smallest, but also keep in mind the full-game will have backtracking, more trips back to town, side quests, etc that increase the gameplay time.

You could have floors in between each areas as calm floors with things like a fountain and a way up. The floor would just have an entrance / exit.

A very silly idea to test the waters...
Amulet of Breadcrumbs:
non-consummable, when activated once, sets up the current room as a destination to teleport to when activated for a second time. (Which also resets it, allowing it to be used again)
