I'm not proud to admit it, but I've killed some very powerful-looking enemies very easily using Magic Knife. I'm pretty sure that giant worm was supposed to be tough, but it just sat there and took, like, 30 magic knives to the face without doing anything. Many enemies don't become active when when they're on-screen until they're closer to the center, even if they get hit. Magic Knife (and Crystal Rod), however, can hit them (even if they're off-screen). The problem is, they don't react to being hit. They just remain idle. It makes some of the fights trivial. It also makes Magic Knife a bit OP.
My suggestion is to make enemies become active after being hit, regardless of where they are. Using Magic Knife feels like an exploit sometimes, and maybe it is.
