I played and greatly enjoyed the Chasm demo back about a year ago and recently got in on the alpha. I very much enjoyed the alpha, eating it up in the matter of three days (and would have played faster if I hadn't had other obligations over those same days). While discussing the game with a friend, however, he said something about how the game underwent a significant change in "feel" for him between the demo and the alpha, going from a more atmospheric "Super Metriod" experience to a game that was more keyed into jump puzzles. And when I went back to play the demo, I immediately noticed the same thing. Having taken such a long break between playing the demo and the alpha, I had missed just how much changed, and now that I know, I think I prefer the overall feel of the demo.
Now, how this becomes "constructive criticism," I don't know. I haven't sat on this issue long enough, or delved deeply enough, to really give a concrete recommendation. Has anyone else felt the same way? I feel like the final version could be improved upon in some respects by returning to the original vision of the game.

Hey, your instincts are correct that this has been discussed quite a bit. As an alpha access backer, you should have access to the backer/dev forum where a lot of us have been chatting with Discord about the feel of the game. Check out these instructions to get access.

Yes, I saw a teaser, not bad... but I plan to buy the full version.
