Unfortunately when we make changes to the dungeon generation the save files become incompatible. Things should smooth out soon though

Am I correct in that the gift key that you get for donating a certain amount only gives you ONE Alpha copy and not two? I gave the gift key all excited-like to my friend, but he's only getting the soundtracks for download.

Correct, the gift key is for the final retail copy only.

Your Kickstarter id would be an email address, which we used to fullfill your order wtih Humble. You could try entering past email addresses into the Humble Key Resender and see if you get any emails from them?
