In X as soon as you touch a wall you're able to jump off of it. In Chasm you need to wait about a half second before your character goes into a "wall jump safe" state. Yep, that's pretty much it. No backtracking, no farming, just push forward through twisting and turning dungeons trying to get your score as high as possible before you die

I was kind of thinking something similar for Roguelike mode. I feel like for Arcade mode to be fair for scoring runs it shouldn't have any outside influence other than the seed, more just based on the player's raw ability. Thanks for the feedback! Yea, Thief may be a little too nerfed at the moment. You pretty much have to use knives because of the handicapping on larger melee weapons, which means getting uncomfortably close. I'll take another look at it soon.

Arcade is still in progress, we've got a little ways to go on it before it can be considered playable but its starting to come together. The biggest problems with the powerups isnt the gates, but the areas they're required in to move through (ie. the Catacombs heavily relies on Ledge Grab to get aro...

I am indeed referring to Arcade mode, and the Scavenger is already in it! You can run into him randomly and his inventory is constantly changing.

The platforming challenges are definitely a divisive thing. Someone just left us an angry comment about how the game turns into precision jumping on blocks, and others like yourself want more.
