You should put the translation tool in another thread, we can pin that one since it's useful to people of all languages :).
Good idea :> As soon as the first stable release is finished, I will do it :)

Re: German Translation/Translation Tool

Chinese translation will be a big problem then i guess :P

Edit:
I guess I will reimplement your CSV ContentWriter to read the XNB stuff, that will do the stuff, shouldn't bee that hard. Time for some HEX-Action I guess :)

Re: German Translation/Translation Tool

Hi Dan, I just tested it in the HEX-Editor. The game crashes as soon as some of your chars are in the text. I changed the o's to à for the first blacksmith text line. As soon as I talked to him it crashed. I guess it's because they did not map this kind of chars in their font. Or it's just because i...

Re: German Translation/Translation Tool

The problem is, your are using your own ContentTypeReader/Writer (CSVReader). I am not that much into XNA, but I think I have to do some work with the ContentPipelineProcessor or extract the XNB manually. Because it's slightly encoded. @Dan: You will have to use a HEX-Editor and the lines have to be...

Hi again,

ok I just checked the new Demo. Great Stuff :D

But there's no .csv file present. just the regular dialogue.xnb und strings.xnb :(

Just didn't make it for this release or changed your mind about the .csv?

Re: German Translation/Translation Tool

Hi, yea that's what I meant. I need a unique key for my tool and I think speaker+quest will be unique for the whole csv.
Can you tell me what columns the strings.csv will have?

My tool will not change any key in the csv ;)

Re: German Translation/Translation Tool

I meant a text-delimiter like double quotes, eg.: "This is a string" but i saw you don't have them and don't need them when tab-delimiters are used to separate each column. But I looked into your file yesterday and saw this structure: speaker quest line I was asking, because i wanted to prepare my C...

Re: German Translation/Translation Tool

Hi, okay :) I didn't look into the CSV that much, but I guess you have this format (both dialogue.csv and string.csv): KEY,VALUE (of course tabs instead of ",") Do you have a text-delimiter like this -> " ? Just need this info to start with the development. Can't wait until the demo is released hehe...
