Item quantity seems to have no effect. Item value, however, does. To some extent. I tossed a plate mail (value 1000) into the altar and got +2 CON rather than just +1. To be honest, I've never really messed with Wiki edits before. ^_^;

The main mod here said that the item's value or number may have an effect on the stat gain, so I plan on experimenting a bit more. I'll edit my post if I learn anything new. Maybe throw 5 potions of health at it next time.

I think that all items should definitely get a short description in-menu about what they do and I'm sure this is on the list for the post-Kickstarter revamp. The same goes for weapon animations. Good to hear. I am using the keyboard and have made frequent mistakes when navigating the menu trying to drop items and equip them etc. I imagine it's a little less fumbly with a controller but my mild dyslexia tends to fail horribly at this sort of thing 'now what button was what again?'
